Friendly Game, daw : )

we were invited by one of my hubby's friends, ian (since graders and new wave era) for a children's party in lexington, pasig which turned out to be another poker night . we were not able to attend the party itself but his friends insisted (persistent SMSng) him to bring the 'set'.

the players:
etoy bakas w/ bullit, the ex-vicemayor's son
ian, now showing (balding head yet only in his 30's) bakas w/ his bayaw chef of mandarin hotel
t2 benchie, the newbie (echosero)?
kuya roger, the caller
the meralco executive
jun,
the coming soon
and mwah the only girl
(don't raise your brows... their wives are also watching)

my oh so...nice husband gave-way for me to play lastnight. He said he would be the 'dealuh'
buy-in was 150 but the game was really exciting 'cause everyone was boisterous, keep on asking questions and insulting those who bet 1 (as in piso talaga!). in short, all of us had so much fun that night.

everyone was calling any bets and any raise which led us to buy, buy, buy
except for the newbie? that was he said...
we set our time 'til 12mn 'cause my hubby has a flight to korea for a week.
they were pleading to him to cancel the flight just to extend the game...ha!ha!ha!

1 by 1, boys of the neighborhood lost their chips to the newbie including me. But, i told myself i need to take them back. So, what happened was the newbie and me played head to head for the last deal. I won that deal with straight but the spectators requested for another deal which made me loose 2h.

the newbie won almost 2k...got back 435 that night...los bardos by 50 (okay lang di ba!)

We won again!

T'was the same death defying (exxag) Saturday where me and my mwah hubby went to eggoy's to play my new sport : ) poker..poker..poker.

We watched the game of same old faces (friends, relatives and some professional bluffers) first, for about 10 mins. Then my hands started to itch to hold the chips. There were 6 consecutive deals that the dealer gave me non-winning, no pair or what we call in noypi slang "basas" cards. Buy-in was P1k and started to realize my chips went down to P650 just bec. of the blinds and trying to buy for a pair up to the river. I won a couple of times with just the price from the blind's pot . Players don't call my bet (gggrrr!)

It was like a telenovela that you would keep-on watching each and everyday and hoping for a happy ending.

and then...Qs5d came.
I only have P6h+ that moment.
Flop came, 2sQh3h...and they all checked, my oh my! I bet with a P1h, thinkin' that they all don't have a pair and they called.. whew! all are buying..

Turn came Jd.
Some checked but the professional bluffer, who got so many bling, blings (gold as thick as of dog's chain and a ring that is as large as a portion of a toblerone chocolate) bet P2h. My hands began to shake when I called that bet (an ugly scene for the dealer). 2 players folded.

River...6s.
Again,some checked
the bluffer stand and said "all-in", P5h+.
The rest folded except me with a pair of queen from the flop and P435..what the heck! My instinct tells me that I would win that deal.

That was my winning moment...won 2k+and bankrupted (almost) the a.k.a bluffer.

I ended up 1,8 with a winnings of 8h after deciding to stand from a whittling chips (ayos bawi!)

My mwah hubby also won that night a total of 2,4. A bring home mone' of 3k (bawing-bawi!)

ESPN poker club....practice here!

have you tried playing in the ESPN poker club?

espn will give you guys a daily budget (play chips) of $1200 (wish i can cash em' out).
This site is superb and its all FREE... it is where i seriously learned the GAME.

you can also have the chance to chat during the game with our "kababayans" (codename: manny paquiao, pulakuzku, ed roca and pinoypokerplayer) all over the word. Most of them are based in L.A. and they have more than a million play chips...they are great!

all i can say is that PINOY can beat them.

if you can beat these guys...try to play with headsuppro and LRB IIII.
They own the $500/1000 game table

i am already playing in the $100/500 (killowney and ballyshear table)game and that is where you can win pots as much as 100k (all-in!)...that is if you skillfully learn the betting style of other players.

Mind Boggler

it was really amazing!!!

i never thought that i would like this table game... or sport... as all would say now.
but, everyday as i am learning the rules, the game and most specially the winnings (kaching! kaching!) it gives me a different feeling...(spc. when i win)...i would like to shout...girls rule!

anyone?...teach me pls. how to bluff!
my hands always tremble when i have a winning hand.
i tend to keep it but, its quite obvious 'cause of the cigarette which i smoke profusely in a shaky manner.

most of the time..skills manifests your winning but, i would say its a combination of LUCK and WIT on how you can outplay those malevolent players. Frequently folding is not a sign of weakness, sure is an indication of being witty and waiting for the best hand that ends up with you winning the big pot. but, but, but try to check your chips every now and then cause it may whittle specifically for large amounts of BLINDS.
